The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway has released an update on their COVID-19 appeal and details of a competition which could see you winning a cab ride along the line!
The railway has announced that they have received over £13,000, as of Tuesday 5th of May 2020, in donations to help support them through the lockdown which forced the line to close.
The railway greatly appreciates all the support they have gained, and the many new members who have joined recently.
Donations go towards fixed costs the line still have to pay despite not being able to run trains, therefore losing out on vital income. To help the line and make a donation, please visit their website by clicking here.
Competition
One of the big events cancelled at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway was their Mixed Traction Weekend, which would have taken place last weekend. This event would have seen British Rail Class 31 No.5600 return from an overhaul. The railway has launched a competition giving you the chance to ride in 5600’s cab in 2021.
