What did the officials say?
Ian McLaren. Who is finance and contracts director at London Midland, said: “It’s really been a great year for cycling at London Midland. With the Vélo, over £300,000 invested in new cycling infrastructure and now this award win.
“Improving facilities and integration with the rail network for cyclists is an industry priority and one we are proud to be driving our business. Passengers are increasingly choosing bikes as their mode of transport to and from the station. Any move to improve the bike/train interface is extremely positive.
“The Vélo was a landmark event for the Midlands and for our network and it’s extremely encouraging to see that the hard work of all of our colleagues is paying off.”
