UPDATE: The line has reopened, major disruption is expected until 2 pm
The West Coast Main Line is closed between Preston and Lancaster whilst emergency services attend to an incident.
All lines are closed to allow emergency services to carry out their work, and major disruption is expected until 1 pm today (08/10).
Avanti West Coast says passengers can use LNER (any reasonable route), CrossCountry and ScotRail services to complete their journey.
Northern and TransPennine Express have ticket acceptance in place with each other and rail replacement buses have been requested to run.
