58,000 extra journeys for Wrexham – Bidston line

Over the past year, one of the principal rail routes connecting Wales and England has experienced an additional 60,000 passenger journeys and a 27% improvement in the punctuality of train arrivals.

has released new statistics for the to railway line, indicating that from January to July of this year, there were 197,047 journeys made.

In comparison, during the same period in 2023, the number was 138,743.

In July 2023, only 48.4% of trains arrived within three minutes of their scheduled time. However, by this July, the punctuality rate had improved significantly to 87.7%.

In July, there were 27,936 journeys on the line, marking the highest monthly total since TfW began operating the services in 2018.

The services on the line are currently operated by a combination of and trains.
