Passengers who use Merseyrail‘s Southport Line are being advised to check before travelling during engineering work this October.

Rail replacement buses will run for 10 days between Formby and Southport.

Track renewal and upgrades to the signalling system will be completed between the 5th of October and the 14th of October.

Trains will run from Liverpool Central to Formby where a bus service will take passengers to Southport via all stations.

“Merseyrail work hard with Network Rail to ensure that planned engineering has a minimal impact on our train services. However, on some occasions disruption to customers is unavoidable.

“I would urge customers to check the journey planner on the Merseyrail website or the Merseyrail app to get the latest timetable information.”
