Network Rail has announced that Birmingham New Street, Liverpool Lime Street, and London Euston all turned blue this week to show their support for the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To coincide with the weekly tribute to NHS, the Network Rail managed stations in the North West and Central region joined other railway landmarks and buildings across the country as they covered themselves in blue light.

Station staff and members of the emergency services at Manchester Piccadilly also took part in the nationwide ‘#ClapForCarers’- at 8 pm.

Tim Shoveller, managing director for Network Rail’s North West and Central region, said:
