On October 12th, Vintage Trains will once again operate The Cathedrals Express, this time heading to the historic Cathedral city of Lincoln.
This splendid excursion provides passengers with an opportunity to relive the thrill and nostalgia of the golden age of train travel, journeying behind an express passenger steam locomotive while seated comfortably in a vintage carriage.
Leaving from Birmingham New Street, hauled by No. 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe or No. 7029 Clun Castle, The Cathedrals Express will roar across the Midlands, stopping at various stations in the East Midlands en route to Lincoln, showcasing the diverse landscapes of the Midlands.
Passengers desiring an enhanced experience can indulge in the Pullman dining options, which include a Full English Breakfast and a four-course dinner in the evening, or opt for First Class, which offers a Bacon Roll with pastries and an Afternoon Tea.
Upon arrival in Lincoln, visitors will have several hours to delve into the city’s rich heritage and history.
Whether one wishes to browse the shops and historic streets or ascend Steep Hill, which is crowned by the Castle and Cathedral, there is an abundance of sights and activities to enjoy.
