Children aged between 5 and 15 (inclusive) will be able to travel on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for a fare of just one pound over the upcoming bank holiday weekend (Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August), so long as they are travelling with an adult who holds an All-Day Rover ticket.
Each adult ticket holder will be entitled to take three children with them at the one-pound rate. Children younger than 5 travel for free.
The offer only applies to tickets bought on the Railway’s website by 12 noon this Thursday (22 August). Tickets are not available at GWSR ticket offices.
Rides on the award-winning Railway take passengers along a fourteen-mile route through the beautiful Cotswold countryside, with both steam and diesel trains running (subject to availability).
The Railway’s Toddington station has a new café, ‘The Cotswold Halt’.
At Winchcombe station, there will be free children’s activities at ‘Wild at Winchcombe’ in the Tim Mitchell building on platform 1, delivered in conjunction with local crafting company Larkswold.
Winchcombe station also hosts the Coffee Pot Café.
GWSR’s other stations are Broadway, Cheltenham Race Course, Gotherington and Hayles Abbey Halt.
