70000 Britannia is set to pass through Kent this Tuesday (13th August), hauling The Garden of England tour.
On Tuesday, 70000 Britannia will depart London Victoria at 10:00 and will pass through Denmark Hill (10:10), Bromley South (10:31), Rochester (11:06), Rainham (Kent) (11:18), Sittingbourne (11:29) and Canterbury East at 11:58.
After around 25 minutes in Canterbury, the locomotive will depart for London and will pass through Dover Priory (12:51), Ashford International (13:31), Paddock Wood (14:03), Orpington (14:53), Beckenham Junction (15:13), Herne Hill (15:25) and London Victoria at 15:35.

It was a bridge strike at Selling, train was held until network gave the all clear.
It seemed to be stuck at Faversham for quite a long time. l wondered if the heat and loco caused a fire somewhere? l don’t know as l went back to work
Did the engine fail on the Wednesday 7th tour to Chester from Southend? We noticed it lost lots of time in the outward bound journey so missed seeing it, then found a spot to view on it’s return and it was 2 diesels topping and tailing the train
I remember as a train spotter and touring the crew works seeing Brittania being built. About 1950.
