Standard Locomotive Limited has announced that it has passed a significant milestone in the progress to restore Standard 4 No. 76077.

More than one-third of the £150,000 needed to complete the boiler has been raised.

In the new year, the boiler funding appeal was launched, and the company has since launched its boilet component sponsorship scheme, which aims to fund a range of items such as mounting pads, stays, smoke and flue-tubes.

At the point of release, just under £60,000 has been raised towards the boiler overhaul.

In April, TSLL announced that they had appointed Leaky Finders in Devon to overhaul the boiler, and the aim is to send the boiler to in December 2024 provided funding was in place to start the overhaul.

The milestone does now mean that the boiler can be sent to Devon as planned, with work taking up to a year to complete.

“This is amazing news and I have to say that I’m humbled by the confidence that so many shareholders are placing in the team restoring their locomotive.

Chairman of TSLL, Chris Irving
