And, at Butlin’s there’s so much included in the price. Everyone visiting Butlin’s has access to the pool, unlimited fairground rides, live shows and headline acts. And there’s the incredible SKYPARK playground.

  1. Good idea but pretty pointless considering the level of overcrowding on this route that has been present for at least the last ten years. I gave up travelling to Skegness by train a couple of years ago.

I have travelled this route for more than thirty five years but it has simply become unrealistic. Two car class 156’s are mostly used with an occasional extra one car class 153 added on. Completely inadequate for the amount of people trying to travel. Gone are the days when freely available extra stock can be used to increase capacity.

The only time they have ever managed to sort out this problem was several years ago when they would use class 43’s which was the perfect idea.

The railway is broken in the UK because of many factors but mostly because it is run for profit, the stock isn’t available and the result is severely overcrowded services on routes such as this

Thirty five quid (regular price) to be stuck on a severely overcrowded three car train for two years makes the whole journey unbearable and pointless, hence I now travel to train by bus. Slightly longer but guaranteed relaxing journey.

This year I’ve read that they are limiting trains on this route to only accept passengers with a booking. Just another idea that fails to get to the core fact that there are too many people using this route considering there just isn’t the adequate level of stock available these days to provide a realistic service

Broken railway, sad but true. Fifteen pound tickets won’t change this even if one can actually get hold of one.

    Nice try, no cigar.
