A specially commissioned model of EE Type 3 (Class 37) No. 37403 (D6607) will be launched in 2025 by Accurascale and The Scottish Railway Preservation Society to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the locomotive.
The SRPS says it is ‘an exciting initiative for the society’ having previously had a locomotive commissioned in 1998.
The model will depict exactly how 37403 has run since 2016 with BR Large Logo Livery, centre headcode, original tail lights, cast bogies and western style lamp brackets.
D6607 was launched in 1965 and allocated to Landore Depot in South Wales. However, it was rebuilt as a Class 37/4 (with work starting in 1984).
The locomotive was named Isle of Mull in 1986 and worked on the West Highland and Oban lines from Eastfield Depot.
The model will be delivered in special SRPS packing and will be available with either DCC ready format or with Accurathrash sound fitted.
This new model has a retail price of £169.99 for the DCC ready or £259.99 for DCC sound and is available from the SRPS Shop by clicking here.
