A train has derailed at Ardwick depot, near Manchester, and is causing disruption in the area.
The low-speed derailment at Ardwick depot means that some trains are unable to leave the depot and enter service.
It is expected that disruption will last until at least 1 pm.
This disruption is affecting the Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield/Glossop route with some cancellations also occurring on the Manchester Piccadilly to Stoke-on-Trent route.
Rail replacement transport is operating between Manchester Piccadilly and Hadfield / Glossop.
Road transport is operated by Airline Travel, Ava Cab, Harris Travel, 2KA Travel and Mario Coaches.

Good to know I can trust Northern’s new trains already
It’s been at Northern for many years that unit 🤣!
I think that’s a Class 323 that was derailed by looking at the picture of the train as it derailed.
