Mark 5 Sleeper coaches are now available from Alan Thomson Simulation (ATS) as a DLC pack for Dovetail Games‘ Train Simulator Classic (TSC).
The coaches were built by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) of Spain and introduced in 2019 to replace ageing Mark 2 and Mark 3 carriages for use on Caledonian Sleeper services from London Euston station to Scotland. They ran as two departures per night; one a ‘Lowlander’ service that divided at Carstairs for Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central, and a ‘Highlander’ service that divided at Edinburgh Waverley for separate portions to Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William.
This is a 3rd-party DLC pack that is being sold in partnership with Alan Thomson Simulation, and requires the use of the ATS Launcher for installation. Anyone without an ATS Launcher pack already installed on their computer can download it here.
It is a simple process to install the Mark 5 Sleeper coaches. After the ATS Launcher has been installed, it will be necessary to log in with the user details for their ATS Account, then once logged in, simply click ‘Browse ATS Content’, select the Mk5 Sleeper Coach Pack in the product list, then click ‘Install’.
The Mk5 Sleeper Coach Pack Launcher will then use the ATS Launcher to install the carriages into the Train Simulator files.
Although there are no requirements other than the basic Train Simulator game for the product to work, users will probably require other stock and route packs so that they can play the scenarios included in the pack.
The Mark 5 Sleeper Coaches pack contains:
- Mark 5 Seated Coach;
- Mark 5 Club Coach;
- Mark 5 Sleeper Coach;
- Mark 5 Sleeper (Accessible) Coach.
Other main features included in the pack are:
- Sleeper (Accessible) Berth passenger view;
- Club Car passenger view;
- Four bundled scenarios (these require additional content);
- Quick drive consists (these require additional content).
