Northern seeks new leader of Neville Hill TrainCare Centre in West Yorkshire

Northern has begun the recruitment process for a new manager for the historic Neville Hill TrainCare Centre in .

The new manager will take overall charge of the site and will be responsible for its leadership team and its five hundred workers.

The operator, which took full control of the centre in October 2021, hopes to hire someone who has experience in production leadership, preferably in a rail or heavy industrial environment.

Neville Hill services thirty-four trains from nine different fleets each day, and also carries out more than five hundred safety- and service-critical tasks. Its work supports over a thousand passenger services a day – 260 direct and 825 indirect.

Earlier in December, its workforce received Golden Spanner awards for ‘most reliable loco-hauled fleet’ for their work on LNER’s InterCity 225 fleet.

Northern has recently upgraded Neville Hill at a cost of £350,000, and released ‘before and after’ images to show the improvement to the site and its facilities.

Northern is also reminding passengers that this Sunday (10 December), rail timetables across the North of will change in line with the rest of the network. It is urging passengers to use the ‘Check My Timetable’ feature on its website for more information about their local station.
