Network Rail, East Midlands Railway and Govia Thameslink have thanked passengers for their patience whilst work took place to repair a broken rail on the route.
Early on Wednesday morning (23 October), track engineers found the fault near Hendon station.
The fault meant that East Midlands Railway and Thameslink had to run a reduced service.
A full service has now resumed.
What did the officials say?
Gary Walsh, Route Director for Network Rail‘s East Midlands Route, said:
“We apologise to all passengers who were impacted by this issue.
“All services on the Midland Main Line have now resumed and we thank passengers for their patience whilst this took place.”
