British Transport Police are appealing for more information after a train window was smashed near Flimby station in Cumbria.

Broken glass from the window struck a passenger, a woman aged in her 20s, causing an injury to her eye.

The incident happened at 8.50pm on Saturday 21 September.

It is believed the damage was caused by a stone thrown from nearby Solway Coast. This is an area of the coast that runs parallel to the railway.

The train, which was the Carlisle to Whitehaven service, was around 100 yards away from the Flimby station at the time of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or knows the identity of those involved, is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 617 of 21/09/19.
