I keep seeing this engine going past my house with only 1 carriage behind. I was wondering what it was doing. I thought it might have been a private charter or something.
Hi Kathy, I think all of the steam locos on the mainline have a support carriage, like a mobile workshop. I’ve not been in one, but they must carry the tools to maintain the loco, as well as support staff. Now you’re as wise as I am 🙂
