Glasgow Central Station has worked with Glasgow Mission in order to host a toiletry collection drive which took place on Friday, the 28th of July.
This year, the station’s staff and volunteers were joined by the ‘most impressive’ costume organisation Imperial Scottish Garrison which has been celebrating Star Wars for more than 25 years creating displays and movie-standard character costumes which are truly awe-inspiring to fans of the well-loved epic space sagas.
Raising awareness of this excellent cause, the Star Wars ‘stormtroopers’ will be out and about engaging with both passengers and staff in a bid to inspire contributions which will support the homeless and disadvantaged people.
Drew Burns, Glasgow Central’s station manager, said: “The people of Glasgow are known for their generosity and community spirit, and we’re sure they’ll respond, helping those in need in their usual way. Scotland‘s Railway is proud to be supporting this great cause.”
“Every donation will be gratefully received and will be used to support some of the most vulnerable in our city. We’re grateful to the Imperial Scottish Garrison for once again volunteering their time to help raise awareness and engage with passengers and staff. We’re sure it’ll be a spectacle to see the Imperial Forces waiting for the 13:35 to Neilston.”
