Network Rail is inviting residents in Alexandra Palace and Hadley Wood in north London to find out more about the work it is carrying out to manage vegetation alongside the railway.
The work begins next month (May 2023) and will continue until February 2024. It aims to improve the safety and reliability of rail journeys by clearing trees and overgrown vegetation from railway land, and will involve cutting back or removing trees that pose a risk.
This will allow train drivers to see signals more clearly, and will reduce the danger of trees damaging overhead lines and passing trains.
Network Rail is holding two public information events about the work:
- Tuesday, 9 May between 17:00 and 19:00 at Discovery Hall, Barnet Scout Group, 1 Stevenson Cl, New Barnet, Barnet EN5 1DN
- Tuesday, 16 May between 17:30 and 18:15 – Online Teams Live event – use this link to join. You will need to create a Microsoft Teams account on this website and download either the desktop app or the Mobile/Tablet app for Microsoft Teams.
Attendees at the events will have the chance to see the plans, and Network Rail representatives will be present to answer any questions.
If you want to find out more but cannot attend one of the events, you can call the Network Rail National Helpline on 03457 11 41 41.
