South Western Railway has announced that it is offering free children’s travel to any destination on its network during Off-Peak hours.
SWR’s ‘Kids Travel for Free’ promotion offers two free children’s train tickets when the adult they are travelling with purchases a promotional Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak ticket.
These tickets are only valid for travel between Sunday 19 May and Sunday 2 June 2019. Tickets are limited to starting or finishing your journey outside the London Travel card area.
The tickets are currently on sale and are able to be purchased in advance or on the day of travel through the SWR website, app and at station ticket offices, or via Trainline.com. This ticket offer applies to children aged between 5 and 15 years old (children under 5 always travel for free).
In celebration of this offer, SWR is running a competition on Facebook and Instagram for the best half-term family photo.
Passengers that follow South Western Railway and share their adventures using #LiveBigHalfTerm have the chance to win a fantastic family day out for 4 people at Shrek’s Adventure! in London, and other prizes, including a Kindle Fire 7 and Beryl light accessories.

“The ‘Kids Travel for Free’ offer is a great opportunity for families to ‘Live Big’ and have an adventure this half-term.
“You can experience the sights and sounds of London, discover and explore the sandy beaches of Dorset, ancient woods of the New Forest, tranquillity of the Isle of Wight and the heritage of Windsor, and many other destinations across our network.
“You can book ahead or purchase your tickets on the day through our app, website or station ticket office, and via Trainline.com, to start a half-term adventure.”
