East Midlands Railway and Simply Lunch have teamed up for the ‘Plant a Gift’ campaign which will see one tree planted every time a Vegan Festive Feast sandwich is selected by First Class customers.

The planting of the trees will take place in Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda and Mozambique. The planting will be carried out by the Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden) which is a nonprofit organisation that supports developing countries to restore natural environments and build natural landscapes destroyed by deforestation.

The campaign aims to plant 40,000 trees and it is hoped that the collaboration with will lead to the planting of 10,000 of the 40,000 trees.
