  1. What a disappointment. Up at 5 am to get into Euston for departure time only to find no platform information on the board. 2 mins after departure time they put up platform 16. A fast shuffle to the platform, being disabled, we find that the loco was delayed by track works which had not been notified. We left 18 mins late. Loco “Peter Pan” made good time and made up almost all of the lost time.
At Carnforth we were meant to be hauled by 35018 British India Line but the public address announced that she had failed due to injector problems. So a steam engine ride turned into a dirty diesel trip!
The weather was fine and the scenery nothing less that magical but so disappointing not to be hauled by real live steam. My heart goes out to all those hundreds of people in very remote places hoping to see what we wanted to ride behind.
    What a let down!

    1. Unfortunately, these things happen. The locomotive would have been passed to run the day before, but upon preparation, there was a problem found. Not enough time to find a replacement

Im glad you had a nice trip regardless

  2. Dragged myself up Whalley Nab to get a shot over the arches, Not to pleased when it came diesel hauled. Not had much luck of late, Ribblehead last week for Bahamas, only for wind direction to ruin all the shots.
