TransPennine Express has worked with fabric manufacturer Camira to bring the Snowdogs Support Life art trail onboard across Kirklees
The Snowdogs Support Life art trail in Kirklees is a free event supported by TransPennine Express and inspired by the beautifully animated film The Snowman™ and its sequel The Snowdog. 67 Delightfully decorated Snowdog sculptures have been put in place across towns and villages in the Kirklees area and now thanks to a special collaboration between Camira and TransPennine Express, Snowdogs can also be found on seats on board some of the rail operator’s trains.
The specially covered seats now feature a Snowdog fabric design which was created and manufactured by Camira using its state-of-the-art digital print technology. The seats can be discovered by passengers travelling on trains for the entirety of the trail which ends on the 31st of October.
The spotted fabric has been made possible due to the kind support of the following companies who have provided their services free of charge: Siemens, Grinsty Rail, Camira, and TransPennine Express.
The event aims to build awareness of the vital funding needed for The Kirkwood to maintain its work in supporting those living with life-limiting illnesses in the Kirklees area.
Alan Williams, CEO of Camira, said: “We’re delighted to have played a role in the incredible Snowdogs Support Life project. All the money raised by the art trail goes to a brilliant cause, and we hope this specially commissioned fabric will help to promote it to commuters and let more people know of the amazing artwork which is quite literally on their doorstep this Autumn.”
Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express added: “We are thrilled to be not only sponsoring a sculpture but working in collaboration with Camira to bring the Snowdogs on board.
“Along with raising money for a worthy cause, Snowdogs Support Life also brings people together as a way to help the economy grow while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of the region.”

Good fun stuff, for kids of all ages.
Now all TPE has to do is run a reliable service (at times, any service) between York and Newcastle. On Friday 14th I saw four listed as cancelled, which meant eight in total.
Whilst so erratic, I avoid using their trains.
