On Saturday 1st and Wednesday 5th October, will not be operating any services.

This is due to strike action occurring on those days preventing the train operator from running any services, who normally run nearly 2,000 services.

The strike action on Saturday 8th October, will bring most of Northerns services to a halt, with only a handful of services running.

While Northern are still working on a skeleton timetable which is to be released in due course, they have already advised customers not to travel.

As a result of fleet displacement from the strikes, Northern has also advised customers to check before they travel on the days following the strikes (2nd and 9th October) as some services will be starting later in the morning.

More information and updates can be found on Northern’s website: northernrailway.co.uk/strikes

Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said: “We apologise in advance for the significant disruption and inconvenience this action by the RMT and unions will cause to our customers.

“As we have previously pledged, we will continue to work towards a resolution to this issue with the hope of avoiding more disruptive strikes in the future.”
