TransPennine Express trains between Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Glasgow set to be cut in timetable shakeup

TransPennine Express are altering their timetable from today due to ongoing issues, which may mean that services are cancelled throughout or changed.

The operator says that higher-than-normal sickness levels and industrial relations, it is necessary to make amendments to the timetable.

Some services may face changes on a day-to-day basis.

The changes to trains from today include services between Liverpool, Manchester and / via Oxenholme Lake District. Services between Manchester and York, Hull, Scarborough and .

Those travelling between Liverpool Lime Street and York / Newcastle will also have to check before travelling due cancellations and changes.

A full amended timetable will then be in place from Monday 12th September until further notice and will affect trains between Manchester / Liverpool and Edinburgh / Glasgow via Preston and Carlisle.

A number of services are set to be cancelled, with some services being terminated at Preston, or Carlisle.

Plans are being finalised for rail replacement buses to be operated between Motherwell and Carlisle, Penrith and Lockerbie, Edinburgh and Carlisle and Carlisle and Lockerbie.

Avanti West Coast have been requested to make additional stops for those wanting to use services at Lockerbie and Penrith North Lakes.
