South Western Railway has announced that it will be doing everything it can to keep passengers moving, despite the upcoming RMT strike action.

The train operating company has scheduled two-thirds of its normal train services for Friday 31st August 2018.

Half of all normal Saturday and Sunday train services are also scheduled to run on the 1st and 2nd September 2018.

Additional services will be provided by the train operator when compared to previous RMT weekend strike days. This includes passengers travelling to Bournemouth Air Festival between Salisbury and Yeovil.

Rail Replacement Bus (RRB) services will be provided, with ticket acceptance being arranged for other rail and bus networks.

Passengers can find full train information for Friday 31st August 2018, with timetables, by clicking here.

Timetables for Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September 2018 will be published on Thursday.

What did the officials say?

A Spokesperson said:

“As the RMT persists with this unnecessary action on the final weekend of the summer holidays, we are working hard to keep customers moving and minimise disruption as much as possible.

“Customers should check before they travel and expect services to be much busier than normal.”
