This weekend, the 17th and 18th of September, the Penrhyn Quarry Railway will be marking the 140th year since the relaying of the track between Felin Fawr and Dinas incline.
Locomotives
There will be 3 visiting steam locomotives, which are all original Penrhyn steam locos. They will be joining resident diesel locomotives on passenger services throughout the weekend.
The railway will be using original Quarryman’s carriages. but should the weather be a little wet then the railway will put their covered carriages into service.
The 3 locomotives that will be visiting the railway are Hunslet ‘Winifred’ (Visiting from the Bala Lake Railway), Kerr Stuart ‘Stanhope’ (Visiting from the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway) and Avonside ‘Marchlyn’ (Visiting from the Statfold Barn Railway).
Joining the visiting locomotives will be Resident diesel locomotive – Ruston (26) and Resident diesel locomotive – Simplex (Number 1)
Bus rides
A vintage bus will be giving rides from the railway down to Port Penrhyn following the railway as much as possible. Each day a special trip will be made to Dinorwic.
Other Attractions
Traction Engine – Joining the vintage vehicles will be a full size Traction engine which will be in steam throughout the weekend.
Displays – Other railways, such as the Bala Lake Railway and the Corris Railway will have various displays up throughout the weekend.
Stalls – Models, books and others will be on sale throughout the event.
Models – There will be a live steam 16mm model railway in operation with a line up of locomotives and rolling stock.
Miniature railways – There will be three miniature railways giving rides throughout the event using steam and electric power.

Adult: £6, Concession/Child:£4, Children 3 and under: Free
Refreshments will be available on site.
