Storm Eunice: Heritage railways close + latest railway travel news

Storm Eunice Warning

Storm Eunice is sweeping the UK today, with a number of operators telling people not to travel, here is the latest confirmed travel news.

Red and Amber warnings for wind are currently in affect, with a number flood warnings also affecting people.

The below information is given in good faith, please contact your train operator for the very latest news.

has cancelled all trains today in Wales. Do Not Travel.

London has been placed in ‘an extremely rare’ red warning and has said that trains to and from London St Pancras may be withdrawn at short notice. Advice is to only travel if your journey is unavoidable.

has tweeted to say that a number of lines will have to close. Services between Plymouth and Penzance are continuing but train times are being amended.

Sheffield to London St Pancras journeys may be extended by 120 minutes, and Nottingham to London journeys may be extended by 90 minutes.

The South Wales Mainline has already been closed to trains, with services terminating at Bristol Parkway.

Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern are telling people not to travel. A 50mph speed restriction is now in place across the network.

GTR has said that if you do start your journey, there is no guarantee you will complete your journey.
