Following an improvement in staff availability, Southeastern reinstated some trains this week, and will restore services to its full December timetable by January 31.
Since Monday, 10 January, Southeastern has been running a reduced timetable in response to an increasing number of Covid-related staff absences and government guidance to work from home where possible.
Southeastern staff are working hard to make sure passengers can travel with confidence and have a number of tools to help.
Passengers can check how busy their train might be with the Usual seat availability web page at https://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/travel-information/live-travel-information/usual-seat-availability They can also be contacted on WhatsApp, or followed on Twitter for the very latest travel information.
David Wornham, Passenger Services Director for Southeastern said: “Like many businesses we’ve been affected by an increased number of staff absences due to Covid over the past few weeks, and we’re pleased to see this situation is now improving.
“We want to thank our passengers for bearing with us while we ran a reduced service. From Monday we’ll start running more services where staffing allows – and we’re on track to restore the remainder by Monday 31st January.

Responses
And that’s why 18 Class 707s are with Southeastern and 12 have been retained that SWR have reinherited them for short term as they are to scrap the Class 456 EMUs.
