The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway have announced that steam locomotive No.78022’s boiler has arrived back at Haworth after overhaul.
Whilst having a crane available, the opportunity was taken to also crane the boiler onto the rolling chassis of the locomotive.
The boiler has been away undergoing its overhaul at Ian Riley’s workshop in Bury.
The arrival of the boiler at Haworth MPD marks the start of the final assembly of the locomotive.
78022 is an ideal locomotive for the KWVR as they have medium power for the railway’s medium-sized trains.
When will 78022 be back in steam?
The locomotive is expected to be back in steam at some point in the summer. More developments will be announced soon!
