This month sees an increase in TransPennine Express (TPE) train services. There will be an hourly service from Sunday 12 December 2021 between Scarborough, York and Manchester Victoria and at peak times some trains will continue through to Liverpool Lime Street.

The increase service is just in time for Christmas, passengers are advised to plan ahead and check National Rail Enquiries or TPE website for up-to-date journey details before travelling.

If you are travelling, please remember to wear a mask on stations and trains unless you are exempt.

Tickets can be purchased via the TPE website as well as the TPExpress App (mobile phone E-ticket instead of paper tickets).

Jerry Farquharson, Service Planning Director for TransPennine Express said: “With more and more people returning to rail and the festive season just around the corner, the reintroduction of more trains between Scarborough, York and Manchester/Liverpool is great news for customers.”

“Services on this route are very popular and I would encourage those intending to travel by train to plan their journeys in advance and book ahead.”
