Today, Bossman Games have released their latest add-on for Train Simulator, this time, they have upgraded the Black 5 steam locomotive with a whole host of new features.

In partnership with Dovetail Games, the new pack includes Black 5 Nos. 45212, 45407, 45157 and 44871 as well as the rest of the Black 5 fleet, which all feature Gill Sans Lettering, BR Early Emblem, BR Late Emblem, Locos with and without BR AWS equipment, Clean and weathered variations.

Also included in the pack is a set of BR Maroon Mk1 carriages, a Bossman Railways support coach and also a range of goods wagons.

A whole host of features also feature in the new add-on, such as the smokebox can be opened, as well as the lubricators and sandboxes.

About the Black 5s

For those that don’t know, the LMS Black 5s were built by the London Midland and Scottish Railways between 1934 and 1951. They were designed by William Stanier. Members of the class survived to the last day of steam in 1968 (some hauling the last railtour under BR), and 18 members of the class survive. They were known as a ‘go anywhere, do anything’ locomotive and have been a favourite among drivers and enthusiasts.

Headboards

You can also drive your favourite black 5 on your favourite railtour by using one of the supplied headboards (cycle through this using H key). These include:

• Cumbrian Mountain Express
• 1T57
• North Wales Coast Express
• Welsh Marches Express

Scenarios

Also included in the cost of the pack is 10 scenarios for you to play.

Please note: The West Highland Line Extension, Settle to Carlisle line and North Wales Coastal route are required to play all 10 scenarios.
