The Mid Hants Railway Preservation Society has announced today that they have welcomed a new patron to the society.

Right Honourable The Lord Montagu of Beaulieu has agreed to become the new Patron of the Watercress Line.

Lord Montagu visited the railway, in Hampshire, last September to open the new Goods Handling Exhibition at Medstead and Four Marks station.

At the time, he issued a friendly challenge to the railway to give him a good reason to return, the railway has happily obliged.

The railway looks forward to working with Lord Montagu as their Patron and providing him with even more reasons to visit.
