The Holden F5 Locomotive Trust has released a small update showing what work has been progressing recently.
The Trust is working towards constructing GER F5 No. 789.
Work has been progressing on making 3D wax printed castings. The trust says these are more expensive but are more of an investment.
Due to having a higher accuracy, the final machining and fitting time actually makes 3D was printed castings cheaper than normal patterns and sand castings.
Progress with the spring gear has also continued at pace, with more components being completed and are now waiting for installation.
