Train operator London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has announced that they have started an 8-week public consultation in relation to a proposed significant timetable change from May 2022.
Following investment in the new Azuma trains and the modernisation of the East Coast route by Network Rail, the changes aim to provide more services and reduced journey times on services between London, the north of England and Scotland.
Thirty-nine additional LNER services on weekdays are planned, with up to 6 trains an hour in and out of London King’s Cross.
Journey times are planned to be quicker with London to Edinburgh services operating 15 minutes faster. Train journeys between London and Newcastle could be around 10 minutes faster.
Thousands of extra seats each day would be provided by the extra services.
With extra trains operating to and from York, the building blocks will be in place for regular services to Middlesbrough once work on the local infrastructure has been completed.
The public consultation runs from the 11th of June until the 5th of August.

euro 2020 whatever that is… should be 2021 anyway [and reverse brexit too]
