train services between London Marylebone and Birmingham will be severely disrupted for the next two weekends.

The disruption will take place on Saturday and Sunday 4th/5th and 11th/12th because of work to improve the track in the High Wycombe area, with work taking place 24/7 to minimise the need for further weekend shutdowns.

On 4th and 5th January the line will be closed between Gerrards Cross and Saunderton and the following weekend it will be closed between Gerrards Cross and Princes Risborough.

To compensate for the disruption, Chiltern Railways will provide additional trains to provide two trains per hour between Marylebone and stations to Vale Parkway for most of the day.

During these two weekends, rail-replacement bus services will operate between Gerrards Cross and Princes Risborough and between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and North.

“I would like to thank customers for their patience on the first two weekends of January as Network Rail will carry out engineering works which are crucial for the future safety and reliability of the railway.
“Journeys through the affected area will take longer and involve rail replacement buses, so I urge customers to check journey planners ahead of travelling on both weekends.”
