Easter train tickets now on sale from LNER

Christmas may still be nearly three weeks away, but has made more than three hundred thousand tickets available for travel over the Easter break.

Just a few days after issuing its latest Christmas travel advice, the operator put its Easter tickets on sale today (Thursday 5 December). Passengers can buy them directly on LNER’s website or app. There is no booking fee.

The operator has offered Easter tickets for sale at a similar time in previous years.

Passengers can buy tickets to travel on the operator’s East Coast route for journeys between Saturday 5 April and Friday 25 April 2025. This period includes the full Easter period, from, Maundy Thursday through to Easter Monday.

When buying tickets, passengers will be able to select their preferred seat. On their journey, they will also be able to use a QR code at their seat to receive live journey alerts.

LNER’s is also encouraging passengers to join its loyalty scheme, LNER Perks, which now has more than a million members. When new members join, they can receive £5 instant credit, and a further two per cent credit on all future purchases of LNER tickets, special partner offers and competitions.

LNER’s train services offer food and drink from local suppliers. First class passengers can enjoy a complimentary menu offering, while Standard passengers can buy refreshments from their seat the using “Let’s Eat at Your Seat” service.
