Transport for Wales is advising passengers not to travel today due to the effects of Storm Darragh.

13 railway lines have been fully suspended, and two other lines are being severely disrupted.

The lines currently suspended are

  • Llandudno – Blaenau Ffestiniog
  • Carmarthen – Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour
  • Chester – Lime Street
  • Cardiff Central – Panrth / Bridgend via Barry
  • Cardiff Central – Bridgend / / Swansea
  • Shrewsbury – Llanwrtyd
  • Machynlleth – Aberystwyth / Pwllheli
  • Pontypridd – Aberdare / Merthyr Tyfil / Treherbert
  • Rayr – Coryton
  • Cardiff Central –
  • Chester – Holyhead
  • Shrewsbury – Chester /
  • Cardiff Bay – Cardiff Queen Street

The line between Cardiff Central / Crewe / Manchester Piccadilly and Shrewsbury is running but is expected to be severely delayed all day.

An object in the overhead wires at Wolverhampton means that some lines are blocked.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Cardiff Bus.
