UPDATE: Trains are now running normally again

UPDATE: Lines have now reopened. Major is now expected until 1 pm

Two out of the four railway lines between Shenfield and Stratford () are closed this morning as emergency services attend an incident.

Major disruption is expected until 11am this morning (4th November), with ‘s Romford – Upminster services also being disrupted.

London Overground says that no trains can run whilst the emergency services deal with the incident, with ticket acceptance in place with London Buses.

With two lines open, trains have to share these with the busy Elizabeth Line so there is residual congestion being caused by the incident.

Elizabeth Line ticket acceptance is in place with , London Underground and London Buses, whilst Greater Anglia says that passengers can travel with East Midlands Railway, London Underground and c2c.

Please check National Rail for the latest information.

  1. My grandfather was a controller at Stratford during and after the second world war. He was excellent with Morse code (learned as a WW1 signaller) which was used in the control centre.
I doubt he recognise it now!!!
