Visiting steam locomotive for Lancashire railway

The West Light Railway, based between Preston and Southport in Lancashire, is welcoming visiting locomotive Bagnall Sir Tom from the Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum for a special weekend in July on Saturday 13th July 2024 and Sunday 14th July 2024.

The West Lancashire Light Railway spans 430yd and has two stations Becconsall and Delph.

Started in 1967 by six school boys, the railway now hosts a range of steam, diesel, and electric narrow gauge locomotives.

On Saturday 13th July 2024 the Railway will be hosting a running day for visiting steam Locomotive Sir Tom between 11:30 and 16:30 hopefully alongside the Railway's own Bagnall Sybil Steam Locomotive (Substituted by Steam Locomotive Irish Mail if Paperwork can't be finalised in time)

Sir Tom will also be running on Sunday 14th July 2024 as part of the Railway's Princesses and Pirates Day where Children in costume travel free.

There'll be Magic Shows, Pirate Attacks, a Children's Fairground Ride, and much more!

The railway can be found at PR4 6SP and can be accessed by Stagecoach Buses number 2 service which runs from Preston and Southport hourly on weekends.
