Blaenavon’s Heritage Railway has announced that Ivatt will be visiting them for their steam gala.

41241 joins visiting Prairie No. 5552 from the Bodmin Railway for the gala, which will take place between the 13th and 15th September 2024.

The Ivatt visits from its home railway, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, where it hauled the opening train.

The loco will appear in its striking red livery that it wore when hauling that first train more than 50 years ago.

The gala will feature an intensive timetable with freight and passenger trains and locomotives from the railway’s home fleet.
