Appeal after West Midlands rail passenger bitten by dog

have released CCTV images to help their inquiries into a woman bitten on the face by a dog.

Officers are asking if anyone recognises the man in the images to contact them.

The incident happened at about 2 pm on Monday, 10 June, when the victim was at railway station in the .

The victim was approached by a man with two dogs, and with the permission of the owner, she stroked one of the dogs.

The dog then jumped and bit her, causing a serious facial injury, and the man left the station.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information about the incident that would help their enquiries, and would to speak to him.

If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV images, or has any other information about the incident that could help the investigation, they are asked to contact British Transport Police by text to 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 291 of 10 June.  

Alternatively, anyone can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

This incident is just one of the latest incidents on the railway network where British Transport Police has issued CCTV images to help their inquiries, including an assault at Preston station in Lancashire in March and a woman bitten by a dog at Liverpool Central station.
