LNER A4 No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will be on the mainline this Friday as it heads to Newcastle as part of a light engine movement.
The locomotive has been in Bury for the East Lancashire Railway Legends of Steam Gala, but will take to the tracks ready for its part in an upcoming Steam Dreams railtour.
Departing Bury at 08:00, the locomotive will pass through Castleton (08:33), Manchester Victoria (08:49), Salford Crescent (08:55), Bolton (09:05), Preston (Lancs) (09:30), Oxenholme Lake District (10:59), Penrith North Lakes (12:06), Haltwistle (13:39), Prudhoe (14:24), Metrocentre (14:37) and Newcastle at 14:52, before heading to Heaton Depot for stabling.
