Football fans planning to travel to Hampden Park for the men’s football international between Scotland and Northern Ireland on Tuesday 26 March have been advised that additional services will run to the station nearest to the football stadium.

ScotRail is planning to run extra services with additional carriages to Mount Florida both before and after the game in order to assist supporters to get to the match, which starts at 19:45.

The Scottish team will be continuing its preparations for the Euro 2024 tournament and ScotRail is advising that services are likely to be busier than normal and that travellers should plan ahead.

Queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central ahead of the kick off and at Mount Florida once the match is over, though passengers can reduce the need to queue by buying return tickets in advance through the mTicket system which is available on the ScotRail app.

Tickets bought this way will become available immediately on the mobile device used to make the purchase.

Passengers travelling from Northern Ireland to Scotland by ferry should also check connections from Stranraer. Trains are presently being replaced by buses, as demolition work is taking place at the former Ayr Station Hotel.

Extra staff are expected to be on hand to assist people. The carrying and consumption of alcohol is also not permitted on either ScotRail trains or stations.
