Northern is looking to recruit more than 300 drivers and conductors across the North of England this year.
Those recruits will add to the over 2,000 drivers and 1,400 conductors it employs to operate its services.
The recruitment drive is part of a normal process to replace existing staff members when they retire, are promoted, or leave Northern to join another company.
This year’s target is to recruit 108 train drivers and 198 conductors, and the company is encouraging people from outside of the rail industry experience to apply.
Successful recruits will join a paid apprenticeship scheme at a Northern’s training academies in Leeds or Manchester.
