Another train operating company has announced a flash sale, offering tens of thousands of heavily-discounted tickets.

For four days, TransPennine Express (TPE) is to offer journeys across the North of England, and across the Scottish border, for £1.

Passengers can travel to destinations including Newcastle, York, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester. A million tickets are up for grabs but they’re only available from now until a minute before midnight on Friday 19 January.  Once they’ve been sold, tickets will go back to their pre-promotion prices.

The £1 fares are available for TPE advance purchase tickets on the company’s routes. Travel is permitted between Monday 22 January and Friday 8 March. Passengers wishing to book tickets should visit www.tpexpress.co.uk/sale/1-pound.html or use the TPExpress app with the code SALE.
