This week, Channel 4 begins broadcasting its new TV show about model railways, Little Trains and Big Names.
The four-part series starts at 9pm on Thursday (19 October) on More4 and features well-know music producer Pete Waterman, who will discuss model railways with guests Jools Holland, Eddie Izzard, James May and Francis Rossi.
The Status Quo frontman will get ideas and inspiration from the other guest to build his first ever layout.
In Thursday’s opening programme, Pete visits Jools Holland’s loft to see a model railway layout that has taken twelve years to build. He also helps with building a huge exhibition which will eventually be displayed in Chester Cathedral.

Great program Pete and looking forward to seeing next week’s
Visited the 3 exhibitions at Chester. A 400 mile round trip to Milton Keynes last weekend. Pete Waterman and his rail nuts are an inspiration, and absolutely brilliant. Thank you all and congratulations
When will it be displayed I’d love to go see that
You have already missed Pete’s layout, it was on display through the Summer.
And last weekend at the Great Electric Train show at Milton Keynes.
