The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Kent is to hold its Autumn Gala on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October.
The guest locomotive at the Gala will be Siân, a 2-4-2 visiting from Whistlestop Valley (formerly known as the Kirklees Light Railway, KLR). It is owned by the Siân Project Group, who are members of the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Preservation Society.
Guest Engineering of Stourbridge built Siân in 1963 for the Fairbourne Railway in Wales. After the Fairbourne was re-gauged, the loco then worked at the Bure Valley Railway. In May 2018, Siân moved to the KLR in West Yorkshire, joining sister Katie there.
On both days of the Gala, RHDR will run special timetables, with non-stop and multiple-headed services. The Railway also promises “special surprises”.
Pre-book your day or weekend tickets online here. A variety of ticket prices are available.
Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway runs for thirteen-and-a-half miles from the coastal town of Hythe, through Dymchurch, New Romney and finally to Dungeness.
