In common with other major train operators, there will be no Southeastern train services this Saturday, 30 September or next Wednesday, 4 October as some of its staff will be taking strike action called by the ASLEF union.
ASLEF is also enforcing an overtime ban this Friday, 29 September and next week from Monday, 2 to Friday, 6 October. However, Southeastern expects to be able to run a full service during those dates, except on Wednesday, 4 October, which coincides with a strike day. Southeastern has updated its online journey planners for this Saturday, 30 September, and will do so on Wednesday 27 September for Wednesday 4 October.
The strikes will also affect Thameslink and Southern services as there will no services by those operator’s trains from Southeastern stations.
In the event that strike action is called off at short notice, it may not be possible to immediately revert to the normal timetable owing to the complexity of the company’s inter-related IT systems that cover fleet, crew schedules and rosters.
Anyone who has purchased tickets for travel on strike days can apply for a refund. Full details of the process to apply for a refund is available on Southeastern’s strike refund page at Strike action refunds | Southeastern (southeasternrailway.co.uk).
Southeastern will be issuing updates on travel information and this is available here.

Scott Brightwell, Operations and Safety Director for Southeastern, said: “We’re sorry to our customers for the disruption that this strike action will cause.
“Unfortunately, no trains can run on Saturday 30 September and Wednesday 4 October, and there are no replacement buses, which means you’ll be unable to travel”.
